Most users will opt for Test-Ace or Test-Cyp or Prop or whatever single ester Testosterone that they can get their hands on.
They steer clear of Sustanon-250.
What gives? What if the only option that you have is Sustanon-250? Can you use it for a steroid cycle?

#1 – Sustanon-250 is essentially Testosterone
Sustanon-250 is just testosterone in a fancy bottle. It’s in a blended form that for some reason is not preferred for performance enhancement use.
We can’t understand why though.
It is manufactured by Organon, one of the most reputed brands that has manufactured some of the best anabolic steroids in the world.
It is a blend of four different testosterone esters, which is very helpful if you hate frequent pinning and the potential problems/risks that arise with it.
So, you save on injections, needles, you have fewer chances of developing scar tissue and you don’t have to bother rotating injection spots which is typically what frequent pinners do.
To answer your question, Sustanon-250 is a great choice for a performance enhancement setting.
In fact, it lets you start with 250mg/week, if you just take one injection a week. But most users will be using two injections at least to get to their 500mg/week dose of Testosterone.
#2 – The four esters have different release times and active doses
To someone who’s always used Test Prop or Cyp, it might be difficult to understand the reasoning behind mixing four different esters of Testosterone.
Why would someone want to do that?
A lot of potential TRT users were averse to frequent pinning and were even avoiding therapy for this reason. So, Organon went back to the drawing board and came up with Sustanon as an alternative to conventional single ester Testosterone that was used for TRT. With Sustanon, what you get is four esters with different weights and release times.
Each 1 ml of Sustanon-250 contains 30mg of Testosterone Propionate, 60mg of Testosterone Isocaproate, 60mg of Testosterone Phenylpropionate and 100mg Testosterone Decanoate.
Propionate is the fast-acting ester with a half-life of just 0.8 days, Phenylpropionate has a half-life of 1.5 days, Isocaproate’s half-life is 4-days and Decanoate is 7.5 days.
With different release times and peak rates, Sustanon allows a person to get away with just one injection every two weeks.
Also, if you are looking to use it for performance enhancement, you’d want to be aware of the active dose that you get with each of these esters.
Propionate will give you around 80% of Test. So that 30mg dose will give you 24mg Testosterone roughly.
Phenylpropionate will give you 66% of Test. Isocaproate gives you 72%, while Decanoate gives you just 62%.
If you are looking to get 250mg of Pure Testosterone in your system, you will need to dose approximately 470mg of Sustanon-250.
#3 – Sustanon can be used for bulking, cutting and recomp
Since it is pure Testosterone, Sustanon can be used in just about any steroid cycle as a base.
Bulking:
Sustanon will work phenomenally well as the foundational steroid in a stack. It will help amplify IGF-1 levels, increase RBC, boost the amount of nitrogen that you retain and prevent glucocorticoid hormones like cortisol from cannibalizing on your hard earned muscle. The result is lean, sustainable muscle mass that you can retain post cycle. Club it with any mass building oral steroid like Dianabol or Anadrol, or with an injectable steroid like Deca Durabolin. You should have a great bulking cycle that can be used both times, during competitive season as well as off it.
Cutting:
One of the fundamentals of Testosterone is that it helps prevent muscle wasting even in a catabolic environment. If you are cutting calories, there’s every possibility that you might lose muscle as levels of cortisol peak. Sustanon will help prevent this. Also, unlike pure bulking compounds, it will not cause a lot of water or fat gain, especially if you watch your diet closely. In a nutshell, you can easily cut with Sustanon-250.
Recomp:
Recomping with Sustanon-250 is quite possible provided that you stack it with compounds that are tailored around your intended fitness goals. If you are looking for a lean bulk, stack it with Anavar, Equipoise or even Trenbolone. (Only do it if you have the experience). If you are looking for wet bulk, Deca and Anadrol works phenomenally well with Sustanon-250. You can also blast and cruise on it, if that’s something that you want to consider.
#4 – Sustanon will aromatize heavily
One of the challenges surrounding Sustanon-250 use is to dial down your dosage of Aromatase inhibitors. With each of the esters having a different release rate, your Estrogen levels will also fluctuate as the testosterone peaks and aromatizes.
If you overdo the AI, you risk crashing your E2 levels. And if you aren’t careful with the AI, you risk an Estrogen spike and with it, Estrogenic side effects like water retention and of course, gynecomastia.
To be honest, it’s not as difficult as it sounds. But it may not be as easy as controlling Estrogen levels with a single ester like Test Cyp.
Typically, something like 0.5mg of Anastrazole split into two doses per week should suffice to help control your E2. But just like everything else related to anabolics, you’ll have to dial it down. During this phase, expect to experience mood swings, soft erections and all other symptoms that your girlfriend might experience when her Estrogen levels go haywire (During her period).
#5 – You are likely to get original Sustanon-250
Since the drug is readily available in the UK and many other parts of the world. Chances are that you will be able to get original Sustanon-250, which will be of much higher quality than any UG lab brewed testosterone.
If that’s the case, go with Sustanon-250 any day.
Remember, it is just Test and Test as they say, is the best. No matter what ester is attached to it, you can make great gains with it.
